Answers to common questions about the Dangler Connect system
Frequently Asked Questions
What goalie masks does Dangler Connect fit?
The original Dangler Connect kit was designed to fit goalie masks with a minimum of four vent holes — two in the front of the mask and one on each side near the ears.
Most masks use a 19 mm (3/4”) vent hole, which the standard kit is designed for.
Is the Dangler Connect adjustable?
The front strap has two mounting positions that allow you to adjust the height of the dangler.
The side straps are not adjustable. However, most danglers naturally ride and float on the goalie’s chest protector during play. The connectors are designed to keep the dangler attached to the mask during movement and prevent separation.
Should the side buttons be very tight to push in?
There is a lot of variation in 19 mm vent holes between mask manufacturers. In addition, multiple layers of paint or vinyl wrap can make the fit tighter.
We recommend being careful and using a smooth object (such as the back of a spoon) to push the buttons in.
If they are extremely tight, you can gently warm the side buttons with a hair dryer before installing them. This is rarely needed but can help in some cases.
Should the side buttons be loose?
As noted above, there is variation in mask vent hole sizes. In some cases, the buttons may push in easily.
Once installed, it is unlikely the buttons will fall out unless pushed from the inside of the mask outward.
If your buttons do fall out, your mask likely has vent holes larger than 19 mm.
My mask has larger holes — do you have a Dangler Connect kit for that?
Yes. Some CCM masks, including certain junior models with side ear vent holes only, use larger holes (approximately 22–23 mm).
Contact us and we can provide the correct kit for your mask.
Do you have a Dangler Connect kit for CCM Axis masks with triangle-shaped holes?
Yes. This kit is currently in the testing phase and will be released soon. Interested in helping test it? Reach out to us!
Do you have a kit that bolts directly to the mask?
Yes. We currently offer a front-mount option that bolts to the front mask hardware.
We are also developing a side-strap design that will attach using the side mask bolts.

My strap broke — what should I do?
It is unusual for a front or side strap to break unless it has been pulled excessively. The material is highly durable, elastic, and designed to withstand heavy use.
If you experience a strap failure, please keep the broken parts and contact us. We will replace it and appreciate any feedback — it helps us continue improving the product.
